Isola Design with Foundations Architecture
AMI Consulting Engineers. These Engineers do some cool projects, and they built a cool building to house their company. They are Architectural, Marine, and Industrial Engineers. Collaborating with Architect, Greg Strom of Foundations Architecture – Isola Design provided the interior branding and Interior Design; exposing parts of the building structure, using wood, concrete and steel as a simple expression of the building materials used in the types of Engineering they practice - enhancing this expression with the layering on of a bold color palette for the remainder of the spaces. Project was completed late summer 2010.

Hagen, Christensen & McIlwain Architects hired Jill Isola Johnson as Interior Design Consultant for this 150,000 SF Lab and R&D facility for Boston Scientific. LEED® Silver Certified, the project is energy and resource efficient, with a European aesthetic. When we asked our client for a verbal description of their vision for this building they gave us five words, “ cool, sharp, hip, clean, and fresh”. I think we hit on it. The centrally located Lab was designed to be visually appealing during facility tours, and views into this space were really important. The Architects surrounded the Lab with interior glazing. The building also houses an upscale Conference and Training Center for employees and international visitors.

For Enpath Medical, a medical products research and manufacturing company, Hagen, Christensen & McIlwain Architects hired Jill Isola Johnson as Interior Design consultant. At this Corporate Office, Lab, and Manufacturing space an emphasis was put on branding and expressing the corporate identity. Enpath’s logo inspired the interior architecture and color palette. Materials and finishes give the space warmth while providing a clean appearance, and facilitate wayfinding for staff and visitors.
An eclectic mix of materials were used to finish this beautiful space at the Lindbergh Airport Terminal in Minneapolis, MN. Hagen, Christensen & McIlwain Architects hired Jill Isola Johnson as Interior Design consultant to provide materials and finishes selections. In a word: Delicious! Duluth’s favorite local cooperative grocery store – Whole Foods Co-op, moved to this location back in 2005. Walk in the door, and smell the food! A beautiful and mouthwatering color palette is a perfect background to the local and organic fare. Low VOC emitting products support a healthier atmosphere, and the overall interior design allows this Co-op’s brand to shine. This project was the second U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® Certified project in the city of Duluth, fifth in the State of MN. Jill Isola Johnson was the lead project Certified Interior Designer while with LHB, Inc.

Interior Design services are customized for your needs.
Your built environment projects your values and goals without saying a word.
It communicates your brand, attracts clients, retains employees, preserves the earth, uses resources efficiently, all while accommodating your daily needs.
Money, energy, and time is invested while developing a design solution; with us, this process is efficient and enjoyable.
We meet with you and listen for understanding, asking a lot of questions.
During programming we learn everything we can about your business, your intentions, your goals, your budget, your schedule, your vision, your needs.
In the conceptual phase we respond with sketches, photos, plans, and visual representations, using these as communication tools.
Your response and feedback is valuable, it steers and guides the project ideas while we determine whether the design concept is on target -only then do we move forward with the drawings and documentation to create your environment.
Design with purpose. Isola Design provides Interior Design for your needs.
